Need Advice on post production

I need some advice on post production.
for the last 23 years I have been working on what I consider the next great epic in the film world.

"Jello; An indepth psychological study and evaluation."

However it seems that something was wrong with my sound equipment.

In all of the interview segments, for some reason I only managed to record half of the conversation.

I interviewed 2459 individual subjects and some of the answers were actually quite profound.

My voice is recorded, but then there is just silence on the tape.

What am I doing wrong?

total sympathy for you mate, but I'm afraid it sounds, pardon the expression, like your subject wasn't close enough to the microphone, or that you didn't check your sound levels on your camera in their microphone. It all depends on what camera u were using. The best you could do now is either re-do it or hopw that you can lip read so that you can dub over the answers.
